Friend Request

A college student along with her close friends was driven into the world of mysticism and bewitchery after getting involved in a sudden disappearance of a new student.

A chilling depiction of a modern bewitchery laid out in a way of stalking through the vast world of social media which ensembles the fact that black magic can go beyond barriers and even encryptions.

The movie’s scare factor doesn’t mainly depend on its main antagonist but on what lies behind her and in fact she doesn’t look scary at all, creepy YES, but scary NO, especially with her gothic look carrying a laptop only reminds me of Lisbeth Salander in The Millenium Trilogy (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo ; The Girl Who Played With Fire ; The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest).

All we can get from it is the same formula applied to those with the same idea of internet horror but nevertheless it is still engaging despite of its forgettable scares and somehow laughable characters. With few or maybe no exciting turn of events, it can be felt that we are all just wanting to see how the movie will end.
